Virginia Trip, 25-29 Jun 2004

My friend Jacob moved out to Virginia in 2003 to work in a theatre job - one of very few of my friends who actually found something that he wanted to do and was able to do it. After hearing him gripe that none us ever visited him for months, I finally got around to visiting in June 2004. It was a nice, calm, pleasant trip, and a good excuse to buy myself a new camera...

We also went to the Bristol Caverns, but I felt the need to separate off those shots. After all, they were my first experience with low-light photography...

Images
Barter Theatre
This is where Jacob worked; it's an old, beautiful theatre.
Theatre II
A second theatre, across the street from the main stage. Smaller productions are done here.
Random Church
The entire town had this kind of feel.
Tattoos in Virginia
They allow that kind of thing?
Theatre II, Interior
This was the cafe. I wasn't allowed to get shots of the interiors elsewhere.
Jacob
Heading out, I guess.
Jacob Plays Games
In case proof was necessary that he hasn't changed much.
Jacob's Stuff
Jacob is the only other person I know that has that Megatron Transformer.
White Top Mountain
We took a short jaunt to the top of the second highest peak in Virginia...
View
Yeah, it was foggy, but I was playing with my new camera, so it was still fun...
Forest
There were trees up there. Jacob and I had to play in them, too.
Jacob and Forest
Yup. He lives.
Trash Pit
Did this concrete thingie ever serve a purpose besides to be trashed?
Trash Pit, II
Guess not.
Plants
Having fun with the new toy...
Better View
Well, just a few dozen feet better, but still.
Trail
Well, part of a trail. Enough to wander down.
Back to the Car
Home we go!
Even More View
From the car this time.
