I hadn't gotten to a LISA conference since
2002, but this year
I decided to go, in large part because it was taking place in
San Diego. It was an okay
time, really; but I wish I had had somebody to hang out with, as I had
with Ray in previous years. *sigh* The changing political climate was
also annoying, with
LOPSA trying to
replace
SAGE as the primary sysadmin
organization. And it was cold, at least for San Diego. Oh well. I still
saw plenty of people I knew, and got to see my Uncle Bil for the first
time in a decade...

Lame Free Stuff Table It's fliers! Fliers, and free stuff that they already gave you in the sign-up packet! Whee!
Food Table In between sessions, sysadmins are hungry.
Question and Answer Board All sorts of random questions got asked on these boards, and sometimes the answers were serious.
Laptop Room I was in here quite a bit, and in the terminal room more. And I was extra careful to use encrypted sessions.
BoF Session Lists I ran one of these! Five people showed up! Whoo!
LISA Bingo Spinner When you filled your Bingo card (by getting key LISA figures to sign it), you got to spin the spinner and get Free Stuff.
Sign-Up Booth Umm...we signed up here? I got nothin'.
Break Time, Outside You can tell it was cold because you could see the ground.

Sysadmin Cliques Really. I'm not kidding. These people didn't talk to those not in their group, and I would have been in trouble if I tried to sit over there...
Christmas Lights A lot of effort had been put into their lights.
Christmas Lights, II It's not much on a percentage basis compared to some houses, perhaps, but this complex was large...
Christmas Lights, III You can see these things when you're flying into town.

The Reception Sun sponsored the reception. I like Sun.
Balloons Okay, so the best thing to take pictures of were the balloons.
LISA Babes The trick is that the women were *wearing* the balloons...
Dinner Real chef outfits mean real chefs, yes?
Gaming Tables This was the other point of the reception; not that I was really all that excited about it...
Balloon Girl The sceptre was pretty neat.
Balloon Guy This was the guy actually doing the work.
Baloon Supply This is what he was working out of.
Balloon Guy, VI And he adds a candle... oh, it's a birthday cake!
Neck Guard Definite;ly
Birthday Hat I believe the point was that it was his birthday. I didn't really stick around long enough to confirm that, though.
Dealing Out I really should have at least played a little bit.
Little Girl with Sceptre Methinks she's the real target audience of the baloon guy.
Uncle Bil My Uncle made a point to get down and see me while I could. It was great to see him!
Uncle Bil, II He seemed far more comfortable with the sunglasses on.
