Ice Storm - 06 Jan 2005

I got these pictures the morning after an ice storm in Central Illinois. And this doesn't even capture the most beautiful locations...

Images
Ice Branch
I think this is the nicest shot I took.
Ice Branch, II
I just need to brighten it up a bit at some point...
Ice on Ice
Several levels of different focus.
Ice Tree
The lighting effects with the flash are neat.
Branches
The red really stood out...
Branch, Close-Up
You can see how thick the ice was here.
Infinite Ice
This one's almost dizzying.
Distant Tree
You can't see the ice until you zoom in, so it makes it look out of focus...
Harding Drive
My home street. Covered in ice.
Front Yard Tree
This tree is just outside of our house.
Icy Evergreen
The evergreens looked the neatest once all was said and done.
Icy Evergreen, II
This is a gorgeous shot.
Icy Evergreen, III
The cones aren't as neat as the needles.
Ice Trees
A good shot showing that *everything* is coated.
Tree, Wide-Angle
A shot of the area around the tree...
Tree, Close-Up
...and a bit more detail.
Snow Bush
Compared to the ice, the snow is really boring.
Branch Walkway
They're just at eye level.
Through the Branches
It looks so delicate!
Branches
The ice adds a bit more volume to nature, without taking away from the delicacy. It's neat.
Ice Bush
The lighting is also modified in interesting ways.
Ice Bush, II
(I feel like I should be teaching a photography class on this stuff...)
Beckman Trees
Now at work, here's some shots of the trees just outside of my building.
More Beckman Trees
These are in the parking lot
Beckman Quad
It looks like an ice-scape!
Beckman Bush
Out front, one of our bushes.
