Front Yard Ash Tree

Since I was a baby, we had an elm tree in the front yard of our house. In June 2004, we were informed that the city planned to take it out, because it was dying and risked falling on our house; in July, it was finally taken out. These are a few pictures I took of it and the surrounding trees when I heard the news.

Ash Tree
Before I was born, this tree was hit by a car.
Ash Tree, II
There was a big scar in its side for as long as I knew it...
Ash Tree, III
It had just about healed up just recently.
Ash Tree, IV
Perhaps that gives some idea of how long we had this tree.
Injured Gingko
This is another family tree; it was planted when I was a baby.
Injured Gingko, II
Sadly, it was also struck by lightning a few weeks before this picture was taken.
Injured Gingko, III
It had taken a hit for Dad...
Injured Gingko, IV
...so we really do hope it survives.
31 Jul 2004 - Tree is Gone
As promised, they took our tree.
Tree Hole
We didn't get the chance to see it go...
Tree Hole, II
So we never really had closure.
House, Sans Tree
Oh tree, we will miss you!
