Rehearsal and Dinner - 18 May 2007

Coming down to the wire as usual, the rehearsal was the day before the wedding. It went off without much incident, except that I was in a fairly playful mood and didn't really say most of the lines that we were supposed to say. The most worrisome part was that Pat had to fill in for Mel briefly, because she and Ray had gotten into an accident on the way over.

After the rehearsal, the wedding party, our families, and a smattering of various far-away friends convened over to Silvercreek, a very nice local restaurant. About fifty people arrived in total, and we ate steak and salmon in their excellent greenhouse. I have heard no gripes about the whole event.

Many of these pictures were taken by Himanchu, Danielle's date.

Images
Waiting to Begin
At some point we'll begin the actual work here!
Harried Darren
I've never seen that expression on him before!
Standing at Front
Axel and I were trying to at least offer a good example by standing in the right general area.
All Lined Up
Well, close - first, we have to find our final proper standing points.
The Lines
From L-R: Darren, Rob, Dana, Lindsay, Danielle, Beth, Tim, Jacob, Danny, Eva, Caitte, and Fake-Mel (also known as Pat)
Stained Glass
Right behind the organ. It's a nice piece.
Chatting with Bridesmaids
Given how long they lived together, I think they'll always be able to just chat like this.
Waiting and Happy
That is a genuine grin on my face. Jacob and Danny were just waiting for something to happen.
Giving Orders
Or making jokes. Or something. I was probably getting in trouble, in fact.
Enter Jack
Jack will help us accomplish our goals!
Testing the Reading
We actually had a couple of lines cut through this process. (I like Vered's face here.)
Tim's Side
Jacob, Danny (paying attention), Eva, Caitte, and Fake-Mel.
Waiting Family
Grandpa Bob, Grandma, and Dad were enjoying sitting in.
Finding our Spots
We should have used tape, like any real production.
More Organization
There's a lot of organization behind these things! (You can also see all of the dates/non-participants here, which is nice.)
Filing Out
We can't file in in order without first filing out.
Caitte and Dad
Dad's always been impressed with Caitte, and she nver even took his class!
Paul
He's happy to be taking care of his daughter.
More Windows
I think that Himanchu was killing time.
Tapestry Close-Up
But I like seeing these kinds of shots anyway.
Tapestry II Close-Up
They're useful for flavor.
Main Rehearsal Begins
In I come, flanked by my parents.
Tim Finds His Spot
Behold, the spot! (Yes, I was feeling a bit silly that day.)
Darren and ''Mel'' Enter
I think that the flash was having problems at this point.
Caitte and Rob Enter
Rob looks a little suspicious.
Danny and Lindsay Enter
Both so solemn! Or at least their hands are.
Jacob and Danielle Enter
They don't look *that* differently-heighted from here.
Whole Wedding Party Is Organized
Or at least everyone's generally where they're supposed to be. Except...
Beth and Paul
Paul looks proud. Beth looks like I used the 'smudge' tool.
Towards the Front
There go the Dillmans!
Sample Hug
Rehearsing out the hugging. She might forget how!
Hugging Mom
While I wait patiently to claim her.
Sample Reading
Do we want to read the book, or the cards?
Sample Reading, II
It'll be the book this time, anyway.
Rehearsal Continues
Everyone's in their place now, including actual-Mel!
Pretend Ring Time
Actually, I think we did use the real rings, because they were available.
Sliding On The Ring
Beth looked a bit annoyed, probably because I was being very silly.
Danielle Lost The Ring
Not really.
Sliding On My Ring
I was better about it this time, though I was still making her laugh.
Beth's Side Rehearses
It's a lot of standing around for the attendants.
Vered's Reading
Testing it out once more.
Wonder Twin Powers...Activate!
Form of Husband!
Fake Kiss
I think that long shutter speed adds to the silliness of this particular kiss.
Figuring Out Exit Strategies
"Now, if my bustle goes here..."
Hangers
I found a pair of my pants here once. Two years ago. That was odd.
Framboise
Nectar of the Gods. Or at least the first beer that I like!
Beginning the Dinner
I especially like the Jack pose in the background. (Rob, Pat, Vered, Danielle, Linda, Grandma Dillman, Margaret, Paul, and Jack)
Himanchu and Danielle
He deserved to get a shot of him taken too, after the good shots I'd already gotten.
Rehearsal Dinner Mingling
Most of the participants were here by this point, or at least enough to start properly wandering around.
Beth Side Discussions
Dana, Rob, and Pat had a good time talking. I hope.
Grandpa Table
Grandma and Margaret certainly got along well, and I was happy to have Grandpa and Michael there.
More Mingling
We had a lot of family to talk with.
Tim's Side
Gaah. I'm getting teary just looking at my friends. I suck. (Jacob, Danny, Mel, Caitte, Tim, Eva)
Tim's Side, II
In essence, I really can't imagine having better friends than these. (Jacob, Danny, Mel, Caitte, Tim, Eva)
Tara and Chace
They couldn't stay long, but it was good to see them while we could.
Over-the-Shoulder
I had found a convenient boulder to stand on. Emily seemed to have the best understanding of how bad that could be.
Barleys and Schlemmers
Well, more-or-less. There are a lot of last names for a set of cousins. (Evan, Simone, Randy, Lauren, Jim, and Susan)
Emily
It would have been better if she'd looked at the camera, but it's a start.
Frances Dillman
Beth's Grandma.
Jack and Dana
I like that Jack had a variety of Pokemon cards with him. And that we got a decent shot of Dana!
Grandpa Bob and Michael
The Indiana contingent. *smile*
Fathers
Wearing their lanyards and smiling.
Dinner Has Begun
Or at least the salad has begun, anyway.
Matt
I'm glad that I was able to see Matt before he headed off to college.
Danny
Wearing the lanyard and buttons. I think he really was honored to get them.
Lindsay and Beth
That's a good picture of the pair of them! Whoot.
Tim, Beth, and Jack
Jack is good and centered and cute. And I love Beth's smile... as usual.
Tim and Beth
Soon, soon we will be married!
More Lunch Gathering
It's really just an excuse to get an overview shot.
West Coast Table
Going around: Evan, William, Susan, Jim, Randy, Simone, and Bob)
Wedding Party Table
Lindsay, Mel, Ray, Jacob, and Tara.
Emily Table
Danny, Celeste, Emily, and Jane, all having a good time.
Steak
That was a really good steak.
Jack Presents... Meat!
Thank you, Jack for bringing it for us!
William Spoons
Dad was fascinated by Beth's cousins use of spoons, and came over to try to participate.
Evan and William Spoons
Unshockingly, the younger kids were better at hanging spoons from their noses than the old folks.
Lauren and Dad's Spoons
Sorry, Dad, you're just not as good at it.
Simone Spoon
Simone got the best pose, though.
Tim and Mel
Her smile was better than mine...
Tim and Mel, II
There, that's better!
Siewneys and Mom
Lauren and Mom were looking, at least; Jeanne and Greg were contemplating something.
More Table Pictures
Going around again! Eva, Stuart, Vered, Ray, Mel, Lindsay, Darren, Caitte.
Pat and Rob
The best faces ever. For both of them.
Lauren's Buttons
She accumulated a whole bunch for the whole family.
Allenites
Alright, this is the one I'm getting prints of. That's what my smile is supposed to look like! (Jacob, Ray, Mel, Tim, Eva; Darren, Caitte)
Distracted Allenites
Somebody was being called over, I guess. Bye, Caitte!
Allenites, II
One more shot of the team. Maybe this would be better to print off. Hmm. We'll argue about it. (Jacob, Ray, Mel, Tim, Eva; Darren, Caitte)
