Jacob and Amber's Wedding - Wedding Proper - 2pm - 4:20pm

The actual ceremony was an interesting amalgamation of a traditional Christian wedding, some Jewish ceremonies (breaking the glass, the chuppah, wine sharing), and a Unitarian minister. It took place outside at Anderson Dance Pavilion, just off the river in Sioux City; and the weather was a bit warm but otherwise excellent. All went as it was supposed to. And it was beautiful.

(For the curious, Bill took care of taking pictures while the ceremony was going on.)

Images
The Pavilion's Back
Or front? I don't know for sure.
Bride Arrives
I got in a bit of trouble for taking this picture.
Photographers
Two official, one not; Heather really enjoyed her role as unofficial photographer.
DJ
Setting up ahead of time, with most of the music they needed.
Ray
There was only so much help we could all help with the setup.
Amber Arrives
And I was stupid enough to take pictures. I'm glad she didn't hurt me.
Groomsmen Group
Preparing for the picture-taking, which was to happen before the wedding.
Bridal Pictures
Amber was off getting her pictures taken before everyone else, sensibly.
Jacob
Looking like a groom, but with a backpack.
Chairs
Awaiting the guests.
Mel
She was *really* psyched to be able to choose her dress.
Ray
But Ray had better sunglasses.
Let%27s call the whole thing off!
Ray and Mel
Let's call the whole thing off!
Aaron
Ray and Mel
Bridal Pictures, II
There were a lot of pictures over there. I wonder when I'll get to see them?
Heather
She had a hell of a time through the whole wedding. She was fun to watch for that. Am I like that when I'm taking pictures all the time?
Peter
Yet another photographer in the mix.
Bringing Her Back
Erin and Tessa had to escort Amber back after the photo-shoot.
Amber, Happy
I was in less trouble for this shot.
Tessa
Yay. Pictures.
The Ring
It was my responsibility to not lose this thing. And I mostly succeeded!
Groomsmen Shots
A bit soft, but a nice layout.
Jacob and Tim
He got emerald green. I guess we were forest green?
Jacob and Brothers
At least he Keith look alike.
Tim
Yeah, I'm happy with how I look in a tux.
Krimbel Family
Preparing to get some family shots.
Peggy and Boys
She's so proud to be marrying one of them off!
Post-Mom-Kiss
Eewww, Mom!
Keith, Jacob, Aaron
That's a good shot of the three of them. Whoo!
Back to the Bride's Side
Awaiting another round of pictures. (Michelle, Amber, Erin)
The Glass
Soon it will be crushed.
Jacob
Waiting for stuff to happen.
Jacob, Waiting
More likely I just got a different angle.
Comedy
There was no tragedy mask.
Sleeping Seamus
Resting before the ceremony? Or avoiding work?
Cooling the Drinks
Throwing around a whole pile of ice.
Jacob's Relatives
Grandmother and Aunt, as I recall. They were both very nice.
Liz
Aaron's girlfriend.
More Wedding Pictures
That, or a pep talk. I don't remember which.
Seamus Awakens
Back to the land of the conscious!
Seamus
A fun kid. I had a good time hanging out with him.
Family Portrait
Getting Seamus to stand still for a few minutes was fun work.
Family Portrait, II
But they managed it with a few hands...
Preparing Aaron
Beware the wrath of the combined female relatives!
Raar!
Ignore the family. Look at Tessa.
Sign Me!
It's funny how Jacob and Amber's signature looks like my handwriting.
Other Wedding
Lots of other groups wanted to take pictures here. Sadly for them, we had the area reserved.
Minister Arrives
Linda, the minister, came with enough time to get things started.
Guests Arrive
Behold the onslaught of friends and family!
Photographing the Bouquet
I should have done that, too.
Guests
Mingling, wandering, waiting. Soon, soon!
Optimus Sticker
From DB and Raché, on the wedding gift. It seemed appropriate.
Jacob and DB
The friends arrive, and the posing begins!
Erin and Husband
I forget his name, but he seemed like a nice guy. And I hadn't seen Erin for years, except for a brief time at the Denver airport a few days before...
DB and Raché
By this point, Bill had the camera.
Tim
Lookin...aah, who am I kidding, I need to smile more.
About to Begin
The other guests were waiting too.
Tim and Tessa
The ceremony began by the two of us walking in.
Aaron and Erin
I think that the name pairing was intentional.
Keith and Heather
Heather is definitely psyched for her sister.
Ray and Mel
Who decided to put *these* two together?
Seamus and Michelle
Amber's two siblings, as Ring Bearer and Junior Bridesmaid.
Amber and Dad
And now things began in earnest.
Amber and Dad, II
It's good to see fathers happy about the activity.
Amber and Dad, III
It was a nice dress, if perhaps a bit too stress-filled in its history...
Amber and Dad, IV
And so he handed her over.
Ceremony Begins
Dearly beloved...
Chuppah
The pavilion was held by Positions Two and Three, and actually was pretty cool.
Chuppah, II
It added some ceremony without being much trouble.
Chuppah, III
And it gives a nice visual aide so that I don't have to try to repeat the ceremony itself.
Sharing the Wine
Each had a glass of wine.
Sharing the Wine, II
Amber poured hers into the shared glass first...
Sharing the Wine, III
...and then Jacob followed suit.
Sharing the Wine, IV
Next, Amber drank from the shared wine.
Sharing the Wine, V
And Jacob followed suit.
Bride's Side
Michelle, Mel, Heather, Erin, and Tessa.
Groom's Side
Tim, Aaron, Keith, Ray (and Invisible Seamus).
Offering the Ring
You can do it, Jacob!
Offering the Ring, II
I believe in you!
Offering the Ring, III
Jacob! Put the ring on her finger!
Offering the Ring, IV
Amber got hers on Jacob on the first try. *grin*
Stomping the Glass
Jacob had been looking forward to this part for years.
Stomping the Glass, II
Amber was excited too, but Jacob's gleam...
The Kiss
Whoo, Jacob!
Heading Out
*clap clap clap*
Heading Out, II
Had I really stopped clapping in those five seconds?
Heading Out, III
He spotted the camera, finally...
Heading Out, IV
She looks happy. Jacob looks like Jacob, but she looks happy.
Tessa and Tim
The couples go out as well, two by two.
Tessa and Tim, II
My grin was genuine. I don't get my genuine grin on film too often.
Erin and Aaron
The whole thing went well.
Erin and Aaron, II
And we were all happy that nothing blew up.
Heather and Keith
Personally, I was expecting Jacob to injure himself on the glass somehow.
Heather and Keith, II
But even that was just destruction the way we were hoping for.
Mel and Ray
It was good of Mel to be on Amber's side, too.
Mel and Ray, II
It all went well. I just have to repeat that.
Michelle and Linda
Aah, the impromptu couple!
Michelle and Linda, II
I'm glad that we had Seamus for the start.
Post-Ceremony
The glasses look so alone...
Mission Complete
We all got 400 XP and 50 gil.
