Mom's Day Flower Show 2007

While this year's Hort Club Mom's Day Flower Show was not dedicated to family or near-family (unlike last year and the year before), it was still fun to show up, help out, and generally participate in the work. It's always fun to see the students working so hard to get something fun and interesting done; it's like EOH for the horticulture students!

A nice view of the garden from a distance.
Overview, II
I should grab a wider lens for this next time...

Working the checkout, in a blissfully quiet time.
Dad
Also working the checkout, in between doing more concrete work with the students.

Lots of plants for sale; most of them eventually went.

Sadly, Dad forgot to enter this year.

Some people just have to be on duty, and don't get to wear nifty outfits.

Electronic music is very useful for gardening.
Mystery Garden
I forget what this was for...

...and her name! Grr! I tried.

TEAR DOWN THE WALL! No, wait, they did that later.
Overseeing
Just making sure that nothing was likely to blow up.

Gary Kling had the show dedicated to him this year. Good guy.

An important part of every garden is its escape plan.
Margaret's Cookies
She always feeds the poor students adequately.

A live band is often used to
Mickey Mouse
Or at least a Mousketeer.
Mushroom Tables
Paper maché mushrooms were a nice touch.

These were the highlight plant of the show. Carnivorous plants rock!

We all live in it!
Yellow Submarine, Inside
The inside was fairly detailed too.

I tried out all the dials. I wonder if anybody else did?

Watching over her Wonderland area.
Dad Being Friendly
Dad, you can make a better face than that...
Margaritaville
I probably could have used a few more pictures of this.

The three paintings were pretty good.

You too can perform horticultural activities while listening to music!
iPod III
Or at least watch others doing it.
Mickey in Fantasia
Sadly, it wasn't a real topiary. But it was still neat.
Gazebo
Bulbous bouffant! Macademia! Gazebo!
