Christmas 2006 - 25 Nov 2006
No, that's not a typo - we really did have Christmas in November this year. Danny was only able to visit for Thanksgiving this year, so we had our annual family Christmas gathering while he and Celeste were here. It was just as fun, and we got Christmas out of the way early, which satisfied me at least...

Images
Making the Pizza
Because really, what says "Christmas" more than pizza?
Piles of Wrapping Stuff
Christmas is always a time of great labor just in the wrapping for us.
Bridget
She wasn't too excited for food that day, which was odd.
Ben
One of Danny's best friends, along for the food and company.
Excited Danny
One of his many moods.
Shocked Danny
I suppose that taking this many pictures right away was silly.
Smiley Danny
But he was happy to have the pictures taken.
More Crap
As always, Skirvin Christmas is about quantity over quality.
Beth
Out of focus, but it's still good to get pictures of her.
Preparing for the Party
Getting ready for a long period of loot.
Dad, Ben, and Danny
Ben was taking off, but he wanted to get one good picture of Danny first.
Tired Celeste
She was a little bit sick; I guess that the Illinois weather wasn't great for her.
Margaret
In a rare picture without a visible Bridget.
Floating Rooster Potholder
I like how Dad's hand is coming out of the Christmas tree.
Bridget, Waiting
She's always excited waiting for her biscuits.
Answering Machine
Mom's first gift of the night, which has given her the power to have a message other than "hello please record your message after the tone *beep*"
Puppy Book
It was about a dog that was saved in Iraq by soldiers. Beth is good at finding book gifts lately.
Corn, the Movie
There's sheep on the cover, whatever that means. (I think he bought it for himself.)
Manspace: the Book
Because Danny needed a book with the Christmas Story leg in it.
Rooster Sign
Can you spot the theme?
Bee-Baah
It's now in Danny's hands, and I never have to see that creepy, creepy thing again.
Bread Diorama
Dad *loved* it. Beth did good.
Cat Teapot
We should really start using it one of these days.
High-Quality Dog Treats
Bear, Celeste's dog, really needed these.
Lots of Chili
Also a good picture of me, which is rare.
Chili and Buttons
An all-important close-up reveals the "'L No!" button.
Jones in the Fast Lane
One of Danny's favorite all-time video games. It had Uncle Bil in it!
Tarantula Whisperer
I wish I could control tarantulas.
Ginger Chews
I've had these before, and they really are neat, if odd.
Beth and Gifts
Beth likes playing Santa, and she gets to do a lot of it at our house.
Armadillo Purse
I have that same armadillo, but not in stuffed form.
Flying Mario
Whoo-hoo! Whaa-hoo! (Etc. I can't really imitate Mario very well.)
Happy Puppy
She got a treat. What a happy pup.
Cat Butt Magnets
We got some of these two. They are excellent.
Haribo Cherries
Candy. Always an exciting gift.
Curious Dog
What's this? (Yes, it was treats.)
Wine Book
Dad always needs more wine books. Always.
Bridget Treats, I
It's time for the main event!
Bridget Treats, II
She needed a little bit of help this year, though.
Bridget Treats, III
Poor doggie, getting old...
Bridget Treats, IV
She was definitely still enjoying the whole thing, though.
Bridget Treats, V
Eventually, she did start making progress on her own.
Bridget Treats, VI
And when she got a corner open...
Bridget Treats, VII
...then out the treat came, very cutely.
Bridget Treats, VIII
And dessert was served.
Happy Bridget
She may not have been that hungry or energetic, but she still won. Go, Bridge!
